Edith Margaret Rogers 1883

CDV portrait of a baby wearing a white dress with a bow tied under the chin. She is propped up-right on a chair or couch, the area behind her draped with a dark cloth. To the right, behind her, we can see the back of the furniture, which appears to be leather with indented areas held by buttons. The card is beige on front, smooth but not glossy. The back is a glossy pink with the photographers imprint diagonal across the length in black ink, the name in cursive type to look like a signature. The inscription is in ink and reads 'Edith Margaret Rogers / Age 5 mo. / Weight 16 lbs.' The photographers imprint reads 'J W Upham / Jamestown, N.Y. / 1883'

NOTE: Transcription conventions:
When transcribing inscriptions (hand-written notes) or imprints (printed data) or stamped information (hand-stamped marks) the information is usually enclosed in single quotes [ ' ] with a slash to represent line breaks [ / ] -- however if the line includes an apostrophe, it will be enclosed in blank underlines instead [ _ ] and if the line includes a slash line breaks will be represented with a percent sign [ % ]. All transcriptions are based on best-effort, we are not responsible for errors -- some writing and even fancy printed texts are very difficult to read, and the copy may be smeared, faded, obscured or otherwise made even less legible.
