International Directory of Photo Historians

For Visitors
The server automatically records visitors browser model, time, and IP address. We do not share that information with anyone, or use it for anything but statistical observations.

For Users of the Contact Form
We record the email address, in order to send an access password, and the IP address, to prevent spam. The contact form registration is good for one year, after which it is deleted from the system. We do not use these email addresses for any other purpose. The only reason an email address would be made available to anyone else would be if it were a source of spam, or as described under 'backup' below.

For Registered Photohistorians
We record all the information the user cares to enter into the registration form, and publish everything except the email address. We use the email address to send a password for access to the registration form, and to forward mail from the contact form. We do not use the email addresses or any other information from the form for any other purpose. We do not make the full list available to anyone for any reason, other than as noted in the next section on 'backup'. Anyone wanting to contact the entire list should post a message on the Photohistory Group on Yahoo.

Backup
To ensure that this list remains available if this website should disappear or the owner of should die (not expected within the next 30 years, but one never knows for sure...), a monthly back-up copy of the databases is retained by one of the photohistorians on the list. That person has not yet been named, so see the above discussion group to identify the individual. That person must agree not to use the list for any purpose other than its intended use, in case of an unexpected emergency.
